My PICTURES of WOMEN are a happy celebration of the female body.  My figure explorations always begin with live models.  When drawing women, I am attracted most to their curvaceous sensuality, but my women are also self-confident and direct.  My stylistic inspiration comes from powerful realists like Michelangelo, as well as from masters of color and sensuality like Gauguin, Klimt, Matisse, Degas, and Van Gogh.  The figure, especially the female figure, retains its universal appeal as a contemporary fine art subject.

Whether attracted by color, form, movement, or expression, I like to use media that are swift and sensual, and work quickly to capture the model's figure, pose, or portrait.  I may leave this spontaneous portrayal as the completed figure drawing, or I may work the figure into a complex composition, often playful, energized with painting, patterns, and collage.
