My Erotic Fine Art Nudes The erotic fine art nude is one of the most ancient subjects in figure art.  My own fine art nude figures always begin with live female or male models.  I search for the sensual aspect of the male or female figure, which tends to be sensuous lines for men and sensuous shapes for women.  Then I hint at what is erotic about the individual figure or pose while remaining within the bounds of acceptability, because I want people to be able to display my art in their homes without concern.  The inspiration for my figure drawings and paintings comes from powerful Renaissance realists like Michaelangelo, and modern masters of sensuality like Gauguin, Klimt, Matisse, and Degas.  Today as ever, the erotic nude retains its universal and timeless appeal. Although the first nude above is from my decorative figures collection, generally my more erotic nudes, like the other two images above, are found among my realistic figures.  Other erotic figures can be seen among my playful figures and my artist's collection.  My fine art figures range from expressionistic and realistic to abstract and decorative, but they all reflect a sensuality and frank enjoyment of the human body, male or female, which viewers find both charming and disarming. My love of the human body is evident in all my figure drawing.  I also love line, and a strong and sensual line underlies almost all my figure drawings and paintings.  I especially like drawing from the nude human figure because of the figure's sensuality, and the natural life and energy it brings to the act of drawing.  Whether attracted by color, form, movement, or expression, I start with media that are swift and sensual, and work quickly to capture the nude figure.  This spontaneous portrayal may complete the artwork, or I may work the figure into a complex composition, often playful or decorative, using paint and other media, energized with pattern and collage.
